A Collection of Songs About Puberty… From a 40-Year Old Who’s Still Going Through It.

The Coolest Kid in Sex Ed is a flagrantly immature comedy album from Kyle Sorenson (Hot Kyle). Birthed in the moist womb of the Last Best Comedy Club in Bozeman, Montana, it’s a record about growing pains, identity, and finding your own voice—and also sex. There’s a lot of songs about sex.

The Story

Some people are born chill

But not me. I had to work hard and study to become the backwards cap-wearing, totally rad dude you find before you today. That meant going through a lot of awkward years of shame and embarrassment—39 of them, to be exact.

But eventually, I figured it out and learned a lot of valuable life lessons. That’s how this album came to be. It’s a collection that digs deep and explores the human condition by showcasing a wide spectrum of pursuits and experiences.

You’ll meet a disaffected teenager in sex ed class and then a different disaffected teenager shopping at Target. You’ll meet a man who masturbates too much, and then be transported to a magical world where you’ll meet a unicorn that masturbates too much.

There’s a little bit for everyone here.

The Music

Songs honed to vulgar perfection

The Coolest Kid in Sex Ed will be a collection of 8 comedy tracks, each of which has been performed for live audiences multiple times and rigorously experimented on by scientists in lab coats. These songs have been laughed at, workshopped, retooled, launched into zero gravity, and laughed at some more. You should get a chuckle out of at least a few of them.

I’ll be recording and producing the album myself, but I’ll be getting a lot of help from sound engineers, session musicians, vocalists, and others.

The Videos

Oh yeah—there’s music videos too!

This will be one of the best parts! I’ll be recruiting some very talented filmmakers to help me make hilarious, high production music videos for as many tracks as I can get away with.

If things go really well with this album, my dream is to spin off the project into a whole Bozeman-based comedy production company called “Haywire” that will be dedicated to putting our awesome comedy scene on the map by making quality comedy videos featuring local talent.
